LEAN Scheduling
LEAN scheduling is more than a planning method: it's a people-first mindset. This training introduces participants to the philosophy and techniques of LEAN scheduling, showing how it improves collaboration, increases workflow reliability, and reduces waste on construction projects.

Why this training
Scheduling often fails due to poor collaboration, unreliable handovers and optimistic assumptions. LEAN Scheduling fixes this by building shared commitment, short feedback loops and visual control. The result: more reliable plans, better flow in design and on site, and less waste.

Learning goals
After this training, participants can:
-
explain and apply the core principles of LEAN Scheduling and the Last Planner System (LPS®);
-
identify bottlenecks and constraints in planning processes and address them systematically;
-
use pull planning and visual planning methods to create reliable look‑ahead and weekly plans;
-
distinguish top‑down scheduling from team‑driven commitment planning, and run effective daily huddles;
-
translate lessons from the Villego® LEGO® simulation into concrete improvements on their own projects.

Sections
1. Theory and Methodology
- Introduction to LEAN Scheduling and why it matters
- Key concepts: value stream, pull planning, constraint management, and social promise
- The Last Planner System®: from master schedules to daily huddles
- LEAN tools in practice: visual planning, Kanban, Andon, and Poka-Yoke
- Integration with the traditional Critical Path Method (CPM)
2. Simulation and Application
- Villego® simulation: teams collaboratively build a LEGO® villa using LEAN principles
- Experience the impact of collaboration, rhythm, and continuous feedback
- Reflection and translation of lessons learned into participants’ own projects

Target audience
Planning engineers, site managers, team leads, project managers, work preparers and design coordinators involved in planning and execution of technical or construction projects. No prior LEAN experience required.
