AI-Augmented Project Controls takes this one step further. We combine experienced Project Controls engineers with AI to make our collective knowledge reusable, capture and share project context, and automate selected execution tasks.
Two ways AI improves our service
1. Make knowledge reusable
The Proove Knowledge Base (PKB) captures and structures the Project Controls knowledge of our experts. AI makes this collective expertise directly accessible and reusable by every Proove engineer. The knowledge of our EVM specialist, for example, becomes available to every engineer exactly when they need it.
The same principle applies to project knowledge. Key assumptions and decisions, stakeholder information, project-specific rules and other relevant context are continuously captured in the PKB. Knowledge that would traditionally remain in the heads of individual team members becomes available to other Proove engineers working on the project.
This creates a continuous knowledge loop: capture knowledge, reuse it, apply it consistently and enrich it as the project evolves. The result is broader access to expertise, better continuity and a more consistent Project Controls approach.
2. Automate execution
Project Controls still involves significant manual work. Building structures and schedules, translating project information into models and maintaining those models all take time. AI can increasingly support our engineers in that execution.
Today, AI-Augmented delivery can already be applied to selected use cases such as:

To enable this, we have developed Proovio, our internal AI platform for Project Controls. Proovio can create and modify project structures, activities, relationships and other scheduling data directly in Oracle Primavera Cloud, based on project context and the guidance of the Project Controls engineer.
The Project Controls engineer remains firmly in control: AI executes, while the Proove engineer provides context, guides, validates and decides.

AI changes how parts of Project Controls are delivered, but not who is accountable for the result. AI-generated structures, schedules and recommendations need to be understood, challenged and validated.

What are the risks of AI-Augmented Project Controls?
AI can be extremely powerful in the hands of an experienced professional, but it does not replace professional judgement. AI-generated output must be critically reviewed and validated. Without that critical eye, AI can also reinforce mistakes or lead to lower-quality results. That is why our Project Controls engineer remains in the loop and accountable for the work. AI supports the professional; it does not remove the need for expertise.
Is our project information secure when AI is used?
We only use this AI augmented Project Controls setup on a client project with the client’s permission; Proove uses enterprise LLM environments designed to protect the information provided and in which client data is not used to train the underlying models.
Can we use Proovio ourselves?
Proovio is currently used by Proove to augment the Project Controls services we deliver. It is still in development and is not currently offered as a standalone commercial software product.
