Why this training

Because schedule delays frequently happen on almost any project, project team members need the tools to properly analyze those delays. To prepare yourself and your team for contractual discussions on delays, you need to understand the theoretical framework and related techiques on forensic schedule analysis. Both the “AACE Forensic Schedule Analysis Recommended Practice” and the “SCL Delay and disruption protocol” are referenced, of which the former is the base for classification of the shown delay analysis techniques.

Learning goals


Students will learn to recognize the methods used by other parties and assess the suitability of the chosen method. They will also be trained to perform in-depth forensic scheduling analyses using some of the most common methods themselves. The detailed learning goals are:

  • Identifying, classifying and administering delays
  • Understanding the different delay analysis techniques
  • Recognizing the most suitable technique depending on the specific case and situation
  • Understanding the advantages and limitations of the techniques
  • Dealing with concurrent delays
  • Administering and reporting conclusions
